I'm linking up with Deedee Wills again; this time with a rainforest unit. Last fall, I did not get to bats, so I am including them with my rainforest unit. I used to do a big unit on bats in first grade, including AIMS activities. My teacher friend, who taught 1st grade with me, found a dead bat in the gutter. Her dad put it in a jar and perserved it somehow so we could share with our students. Which reminds me of how I love it when my students bring surprises in for me. Last year, one of my kinderkids found a dead crunchy lizard in his lamp. He brought it in to class for me. That made me think how I get excited about those kind of things, while some of my other friends get grossed out! How about you? What are your feelings about dead crunchy lizards, crawling bugs, slimey tadpoles, snakeskin, and bones?
Off to yoga I go! Have a great week!
